It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our member Richard Gillyard. Richard joined Jersey Jubilation in 2019 and was an integral part of the bass section. A prolific tenor soloist and great appreciator of classical music, he appeared in performances throughout New York City and New Jersey and sang in the choirs of the New York City Opera, Mostly Mozart Festival, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Richard was also the Bell Choir Director at the United Congregational Church in Montclair, NJ. Richard is deeply missed by Jersey Jubilation.
Donations in Richard's memory can be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, Christine's Kitchen in West Orange, NJ, or the It Gets Better Project.
It is with extremely heavy hearts that we must share the passing of one of our own, Doris Williams. Doris was a charter member of Jersey Jubilation and instrumental in helping the group become what it is today. She was a passionate ringer and friend and will be dearly missed by all. Donations in memory of Doris can be made to a scholarship being established in her name (information below) which will support a college student majoring in Music.
